Laura Romero Alba
Born in Malaga, Laura Romero Alba started playing the violin at the age of 7. She completed her studies at the Conservatory of Music in Malaga and the Galamian International Academy, studying with professors Anna Margrethe Nilsen and Jesús Reina. Subsequently, Laura Romero moved to the United States, where she is currently completing her postgraduate studies at the University of Indiana with violin professor Grigory Kalinovsky.
Additionally, Ms Alba received masterclasses from pedagogues such as Pinchas Zukerman and Patinka Kopec. She has performed as a soloist in various places in Europe and the United States. Within chamber music, Laura Romero Alba participates in multiple groups such as the ‘River Quintet’ and ‘Camerata Bitácora’, playing both the violin and the viola.
Ms Alba has been part of orchestras such as Columbus Indiana Philarmonic, Richmond Symphony Orchestra and Terre Haute Symphony Orchestra and has recently performed alongside the Hispanian Symphony Orchestra, the Philharmonic Orchestra of Malaga and the Young National Orchestra of Spain. She is currently the assistant professor of violin and viola at the Galamian International Academy in Malaga.
