Mariola Cantarero has been a winner in several international singing competitions, such as "Francisco Viñas", "Opera '99", "Pedro Lavirgen" and "A.S.L.I.C.O. 2000", and received prizes such as "Ópera Actual", "Revelation of El Liceo", "Image of the City of Granada", "Critical Eye in National Spanish Radio", "Honorary Mention of the Government of Granada", and "Gold Medal of Andalucía".
After her debut in Teatro Carlo Felice of Genoa, she became a regular soprano in some of the main stages, such as the Teatro Real in Madrid, Liceo in Barcelona, Maggio Fiorentino, San Carlo di Napoli, L'Opera di Roma, Rossini Opera Festival, Hamburg, Berlin, Zurich, Amsterdam, Strasbourg, National Opera of Korea, Oriental Art Center of Shanghai, San Juan of Puerto Rico, Santiago of Chile, Opera of Sao Paulo, and the Detroit opera and New Jersey.
Mariola Cantarero has worked with conductors such as Zubin Mehta, Alberto Zedda, Jesús López Cobos, Daniel Oren, Campanella, and Robert Abbado. Highlights of her discography include "Luisa Fernanda" with Plácido Domingo and "Falstaff", conducted by Zubin Mehta.
