Gabriel Ureña

Gabriel Ureña became, at just 19 years old, the youngest leader of Spanish orchestras when he obtained the principal cello position of the Oviedo Filarmonia Orchestra. As a soloist, he has given concerts in Spain, Italy, France, Switzerland, Germany, Norway and Austria, where he debuted at the Musikverein in Vienna, and in venues such as the National Auditorium, the Champs Elysees theater in Paris, the Prince Felipe Auditorium in Oviedo or the Vienna State Opera.

He studied a postgraduate degree at the School of Music of Fiesole, supported by Maestro Claudio Abbado, and a Master’s Degree at the Vienna Conservatory, both under the direction of Natalia Gutman. Among his upcoming commitments are his return to Musikverein in Vienna, and concerts at the Fundación Juan March and the Palacio de Festivales de Santander.
