Krzysztof Karpeta graduated cum laude from the Academy of Music in Łódź, studying with Stanisław Firlej. Following, he studied at the Hochschule für Musik und Darstellende Kunst in Mannheim with Michael Flaksman and Jelena Očić. As a soloist, he has performed with numerous orchestras in Poland and abroad. His recording catalogue includes such labels as CD Accord, DUX and Chandos. In 2011 he founded the Polish Cello Quartet, the only group in Poland playing music originally written for cello quartet. Members of the Quartet are the organizers and originators of the International Cello Academy in Nysa (Poland) which is thought to promote cello chamber music among students.
In 2014 for his outstanding achievements in arts he was awarded with an honourable mention of the J. Grotowski Scholarship Committee in Wrocław. Krzysztof Karpeta teaches at the Karol Lipiński Academy of Music in Wrocław from which he received his doctorate in 2017.
